Life of JessInside my head 3月27日 RIP Willis MorganOur beloved dog Willis, whom many of you will have meet and spent time with if you've visited my parents place, passed away last night.
We're not too sure what was wrong, and there were only a few days from when Mum got back and noticed he was sick til he passed away so it's all happened really quickly. It's so hard being up here and away from it all too, it hasn't quite sunk in simply because of that. I don't think it will until I go back and he's not there.
RIP Willis.
Woof woof 3月3日 Car CrashWas in a car crash today. We are fine, car is not. It facinates me that some people just cannot take responsiblity for their own mistakes. Woman crashed into my passanger door after when she was at a 'Give Way' sign, and man, she would not accept that it was her in the wrong. It seems damn obvious to me, she hit my passenger door, I was on the straight, and yet she still plowed into the side of me. I just watched her and kept thinking "She has to stop, why is she not stopping?" and then bang. Have whiplash so have really sore shoulders, and am very pissed off about the shit I have to go through now to get it fixed, but I'm not as upset as I thought I would be simply because I know it wasn't my fault. Which I think is why she was so upset and kept blaming me, coz she knows it was her fault and doesn't want to own up to it. Stupid bitch. So I have posted some lovely photos for you to enjoy for my poor car :( Goddam it! 2月11日 I'm here!I'm here! | Well, I have finished my first week here in Taumarunui. |
And what a week it has been. I have spent three days on the Marae a couple of minutes away, made heaps of good friends already and am now frantically planning my first lessons for tuesday. I finally got my timetable on Friday and I'm teaching Year 9, Year 10 and 2 Year 11 classes. I have also become really good mates with one of the other young teachers here and we're banding together to start up a film and drama club and to do the production this year. I even went to an A&P show yesterday, haha. It was a bit of a rip though, we had to pay $5 to get in and there was crap all stalls or anything there. There were a few bouncy castles and some horses trotting around, and that was it. Last night I went to Anna's place and a whole group of us got together for a movie night, and that is one thing I have noticed; people here tend to get together and socialize more frequently because there's nothing much else to do. It helps with the community and staff morale and feeling, its a really nice thing to be a part of. Achilles has settled in really well, I didn't even have to keep him inside for the first couple of days, and it's gotten to the point when the moment he heres me come home he races in too. I think Achilles is missing Rajeev because he spoils that cat a lot, but we only have to wait one more week. We're at the half way point now. Anyway, I'll post a couple of pics on here and we have a spare bedroom and bed for anyone who wants to come up and get away from city life for a while. Love you all :) Jess 1月25日 Greener Pastures... and I mean Pastures! So, as most of you will have guessed by now I got the job at Taumarunui High School. Which is of course a very mixed blessing. It means a great job, at a great school, in a town with the cheapest living costs imaginable. But it also means leaving this great city I have called home for the past 6 years. But it's all set in motion. We leave in a week, well I do anyway. Rajeev has to give 4 weeks notice at the Duxton so I'm moving up first and setting up house and starting the school year, and he's going to catch a train up in a few weeks and meet me. We move out next weekend in fact, on the 4th of February. We have a flat in Taumarunui already in North Street, it's a school flat, and it's not perfect, and no where near as nice as this place, but it's only $75 a week for a two bedroom place. So I can't complain too much. Who knows, we may have enough money to buy our own house very quickly. Hopefully. If you have no idea where Taumarunui is click here and the link will take you to Wises maps where you just have to type in Taumarunui, and then you'll have to zoom out a bit to get an idea of the location. So anyway, we're having a leaving BBQ on Monday the 29th of January. It will start at 3pm and be an afternoon/ dinner hopefully in the sun ino our backyard. I was hoping to go to Mini Golf in Porirua beforehand, but seeing as we're moving we have no money left for anything other than moving related things so that has gone out the window. And keeping that in mind it's BYO drinks and meat. We'll provide salads, veges and dessert. And as you all should know, my desserts are the best. Anyway, I can't think of much else to tell you. If you have any questions post them as a comment, but most of you I will hopefully see on Monday. Lots of love, Jess. 1月19日 The Comet of Good Luck Last night I watched the comet from the hill in our backyard Today my fortune seems to have turned. I have a job interview at a High School in Taumaranui on Monday. It's for an English teaching job, they have school houses available to live in, and a nice friendly atmosphere at a small rural school. When I say small, I mean small. Only 557 kids in 2006. That's only just bigger than my Primary School was in Auckland. So yeah... Travelling to Turangi on Monday morning to see mum and dad and drop my stuff at our hotel, then driving to meet the Principal, HOD English and get a tour of the grounds and accomodation. They sound like they really want me and I don't think they won't hire me unless they find something totally wrong with me when I get there. So, I would probably start in 2 weeks. How's that for short notice. Exciting, but it will be hectic trying to pack up 6 years of my life here in 2 short weeks. Yikes. Onto greener and greater things though so I can only be excited. And yes, Rajeev is coming with me. And Achilles. We'll find a nice little quiet house in the middle of nowhere and live quite happily. With Mount. Ruapehu on one side threatening to spill at any second, and Mount. Taranaki on the other side sheilding us for the nasty wind, I think it will be pretty cozy. So here's hoping everything goes well on Monday. I've already started preparing for the interview. Yay. Wish me luck! 12月29日 It's all coming to an end.The end is nigh...
Well, end of 2006 anyway.
It hasn't been a particularly bad year, but not a particularly amazing one either. The annoying thing is that i'm always referring to next year as 2008, yet it isn't, so my kind of logic suggests that next year isn't going to be a stunning one either, but 2008 is the year when everything will happen.
That's my logic anyway. Hopefully 2007 can come along and prove me wrong.
Next year will start as always, with the shooting nationals, where this year I am Senior Range Officer. Well, 'senior' is a title i have given myself, but it is my second year as range officer, and the others are just newbies. Except for dad, but he's Cheif Range Officer, and if he can have a title then why can't I!
I just have to be wary of Sunburn this year, seeing as the past two Nationals have results in serious burning. I do plan on learning from some of my mistakes.
I need to find a free website host server coz my new website is almost ready and I need something to post it on, that perferrably doesn't cost money. Although maybe I should pay and dodge those damn annoying pop-ups!
The end of the year is such a strange thing to me. Mainly because I feel it should still be 1998, not 2000 and something! Especially not 7 years into this decade! It's crazy.
Anyway, I'm going to play Sims. It's write a longer and better update sonn, probably when I get my new site up and running properly. Mainly because I don't think anyone even reads this site anymore and I don't want to waste time updating something people don't even check.
Love you all :)
